As the mad rush of the Hollidaze begin and we transition into 2012 I wanted you to know about the New Year Intuitive Painting Weekend happening January 28-29th. As the year begins this is an opportunity to take this powerful time of year to go inside and discover what’s important for you right now in your life. This is an empowering experience to play with paint and let go and let be and become stronger in your creative sense of self. I am posting this now encase you want to give it as a special gift either to yourself or someone special you know could use more creativity in their life. Anyone can do this no previous art experience required. You already have everything you need.

The costs is $160 for the weekend and all the art materials are supplied. If you have taken the class before the cost to former students is always discounted to $100. The workshop runs all day Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 5. All you need to do is wear old clothes you can get paint on and bring an open mind and heart. I do the rest. You also need to bring a sac lunch both days. The workshop is held at my studio in North Portland.

I read this today and had to share it with all of you. This is the most beautiful piece of writing I have read in a long time. I felt my wings unfolding when I read the last line. It truly touched me in the deepest parts of my soul. This is what Intuitive Painting is all about, the journey and unfolding of your own wings. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

The Return
Some day, if you are lucky,
you’ll return from a thunderous journey trailing snake scales, wing fragments and the musk of Earth and moon.
Eyes will examine you for signs
of damage, or change
and you, too, will wonder
if your skin shows traces
of fur, or leaves,
if thrushes have built a nest
of your hair, if Andromeda
burns from your eyes.
Do not be surprised by prickly questions
from those who barely inhabit
their own fleeting lives, who barely taste
their own possibility, who barely dream.
If your hands are empty, treasureless,
if your toes have not grown claws,
if your obedient voice has not
become a wild cry, a howl,
you will reassure them. We warned you,
they might declare, there is nothing else,

no point, no meaning, no mystery at all,

just this frantic waiting to die.

We all have creative parts of us that stay hidden or are shy and need a little coaxing to come out. These are wonderful sensitive parts of us that have a lot of depth and joy to add to our lives. Once we get to know them our lives change and we become stronger in our innate sense of self. This is the power of Intuitive Painting.

Intuitive Painting is perfect for bringing out our deeper, authentic, creative parts that need to feel safe and accepted to come to the surface and interact. This is a gentle fun weekend of letting go of rules, judgements and just playing with paint. If you are an experienced artist feeling uninspired or a total beginner the paint will teach you a lot. It will show you what you want and what you need right now to create a fantastic life. Not only do you take a painting journey deep into yourself, you also create an incredible painting that represents what is in your heart.

Intuitive Painting brings out and nurtures the creative spirits in us all. We all need a place to play and explore new ways of experiencing our life. No previous experience required you already have everything you need.

INTUITIVE PAINTING is very different from other art classes you have take.   All the art supplies are provided for you, you can do really big paintings, you are totally free and uninhibited. All you have to do is wear old clothes your can get paint on and bring an open heart and mind. The workshop is two full days, Saturday and Sunday,10 to 5, and costs $160. You bring a sac lunch both days. There is lots of time to process and be on your own and lots of time to share.

Just met with a former student yesterday that took the workshop last winter. Asked her what she liked most about it and she said “I was able to get to the story inside and hadn’t been able to do that before.” There really is a lot of personal power in this process and I hope you can come and experience it.

I am opening my studio for you on Wednesdays at two different times, 1-4 in the afternoon and 6-9 in the evening. I am calling it Intuitive Art School. This is a painting I created at a weekend intuitive painting class facilitate by the amazing Carolyn Winkler. I highly recommend. Carolyn and the other participants gave me the space and safety to unlock my own intuitive creativity.

Releasing the Dreams…
In the days before dreams, the world was made of water. It was dark and turbulent. The land was black and rich, full of every mineral, but there were no dreams. The earth goddess was still asleep in the deepest depths of the ocean. The sun god was hardly noticeable. And the world was left without dreams.
Buried deep within the sea was the vessel and the key. It was the way to unlock the land from the ocean and it was full of rich colors. The people of the earth searched and searched for it, but no one could find it. The priestesses were consulted. From their power of intuition they knew how to find the vessel and the key.

The priestesses told the people to find the sea turtle for it had survived for millions of years and he knew where the vessel and the key were hidden. The people called upon the turtle in the blackest depths of the sea to show them where it was.

Once found, the vessel and key floated to the surface and all the dreams that had ever been dreamed and all the dreams still to come were let out of the ocean and floated into the air; uniting the people of the land, water, wind and fire to be as one. To create the world they dream of…
